Celebration of the 15th anniversary of IZTECH together with Łukasiewicz - PIAP
On 3 July 2023, a ceremonial meeting of the IZTECH Council was held to celebrate the organisation’s 15 years of activity. The meeting was attended by many representatives of the worlds of science and business, including Sc.D. Eng. Piotr Szynkarczyk, Director of Łukasiewicz – PIAP and member of the IZTECH Council.
The Polish Chamber of Commerce for Advanced Technologies (IZTECH) brings together scientific institutions, universities and enterprises related to the technology sector. Its mission is primarily to integrate the community, stimulate development of knowledge-based entrepreneurship and support hi-tech projects in achieving commercial success.
Innovation and development
The July meeting of the IZTECH Council, focused on the celebration of the organization’s 15th anniversary, gathered over 100 representatives of the world of science and technology practitioners. This group also included Sc.D. Eng. Piotr Szynkarczyk, Director of Łukasiewicz – PIAP and member of the IZTECH Council, who was one of the speakers.
The history of the organization and the road to future technologies were discussed by Prof. Ryszard Pregiel, Honorary President of IZTECH and Vice-Chair of its council, who was the initiator of its establishment and implementation of major projects. The meeting was conducive to discussions about future technologies, as well as challengesand opportunities for Poland in European science and technology cooperation. The latter topic was introduced by Sc.D. Zygmunt Krasinski, President of the Council.
The meeting, held at the Warsaw Gasworks Museum, was chaired by Prof. Jerzy Buzek, Chair of the IZTECH Council. The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of guests, including Wojciech Murdzek (Ministry of Education and Science), Paweł Lewandowski (Ministry of Digital Affairs), prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk (President of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland), Ewa Mańkiewicz-Cudny (President of the Board of the Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations of the NOT), Prof. Henryk Skarżyński (Chair of the General Council of Research Institutes) and Prof. Tadeusz Burczyński (Chair of the Council of Scientific Units of the PAN).
Awarded achievements
During the meeting, the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Province, Adam Struzik, presented Prof. Jerzy Buzek and Zygmunt Krasiński with the Pro Masovia memorial medal for their outstanding contributions and for the Council’s overall activity for the benefit of the Mazowsze region.
The ceremony also included the presentation of the Laurels of Future Technology award in two categories: “Special achievements in the implementation of breakthrough technologies into economic practice” (this award went to Wojciech Wajda, President of the Management Board of WASKO), and “Merits in public and organisational activities for the development of the advanced technology industry” (the laurel was awarded to Ewa Mankiewicz-Cudny, President of the Federation of Scientific and Scientific Associations of the NOT).
