Intelligent, modular system for dynamic weighting of components

Program name: Operating Program ‘Innovative Economy’ for years 2007-2013 co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, Action 1: ‘Priority axis: research and development of advanced technologies’, Action 1.3: Support for R&D projects for the business implemented by R&D organizations’, Sub-action 1.3.1: ‘Development projects’.

Project value: PLN 1,652,177

Amount of subsidy: PLN 812,492

Project implementation timeframe: 01/05/2013 –  30/06/2015

Coordinator: Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP

Project purposes: The goal of the project is to develop a model of usable modular system for dynamic weighing of components enabling dynamic measurement of individual loads of up to 750 g with an accuracy of 0.1 g, at a rate of 200 pc./min., meeting requirements of the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID).

The system will become a basis for a series of such devices intended for clients from chemical, pharmaceutical and foodstuffs industries.

The innovativeness of the project is related to development of a magnetoelectric measuring system featuring rapid weighing, unique transportation system minimizing vibration and electronic systems for automatic calibration, diagnostics and monitoring in each component of the system. The end result will consist of a unique opportunity of developing self-adjusting dynamic weighing systems, with advanced functionality for diagnostic for individual components and for the system as a whole.
