A method for activation of a resolver on a permanent magnet synchronous motor, the windings of which are supplied from a power supply system controlled by a processor with a key circuit, generating at least for the motor windings control signals of modulated pulse width aligned to the centre, consisting in supplying the resolver excitation winding with a sinusoidal waveform signal, which is the result of filtering out the first harmonic from a rectangular signal, is characterised in that a rectangular signal synchronous with all the control signals of the motor winding supply system is used to excite the resolver and before filtering out the first harmonic from this signal the signal is divided by two in a frequency divider.
